Kashmir Great Lakes Trek – Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Arrival at Srinagar and Drive to Shitkadi, Sonamarg

- Altitude: 5,200 ft to 8,630 ft
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Srinagar Airport to Shitkadi in Sonamarg, where your first campsite awaits.
Day 2: Trek from Shitkadi to Nichnai
- Trek Distance: 11.6 km
- Trek Duration: 6.5 hours
- Altitude: 8,630 ft to 11,605 ft
After breakfast, proceed through an Indian Army checkpoint to verify permissions. The day involves a steady ascent for 2 hours followed by a moderate climb to the Nichnai campsite.
Day 3: Nichnai to Vishnusar via Nichnai Pass
- Trek Distance: 13.5 km
- Trek Duration: 7 hours
- Altitude: 11,605 ft to 12,010 ft, crossing 13,230 ft at Nichnai Pass
The day starts with a gradual ascent for 1.5 hours, followed by a challenging climb to the Nichnai Pass. After crossing the pass, enjoy a steep descent easing into a flat walk towards Vishnusar Lake.
Day 4: Vishnusar to Gadsar via Gadsar Pass
